Installation


  1. Download the zip file from the ultraVNC website
  2. Extract the archive content inside any empty folder on your server
  3. Rename the .exe file to the name repeater.exe
  4. open cmd.exe and execute the following command "c:\myfolder\repeater.exe -install"
  5. open Services.msc and find the service repeater_service
  6. configure the service to start in automatic mode and start it now if necessary
     

Configuration

  • VncViewerPort =>    Used internally on your server. It needs to match the configuration of the ultraVNC repeater
  • VncUrl             =>    The address of the server. It will be used on your devices to reach the server
  • VncServerPort  =>    The port that is used to send the VNC data from your devices to the server. It MUST be open for incoming connections on the server and for outgoing connection on the devices. This is a customable port, so it's possible to choose the port 80 to match most company firewalls requirements It needs to match the configuration of the ultraVNC repeater 
  • VncIsLocal       =>    Must be set to true for on premises installation
  • VncConfigPwd =>    The password of the ultra VNC repeater web view
  • VncConfigPort =>    The porof the ultra VNC repeater web viewIt needs to match the configuration of the ultraVNC repeater

  • The default port is 80, unless that this port was bound already. It will then chose the closest port (81,82..)
  • To access to this view, open your favorite browser (or the one available) on the server, and enter http://localhost:80 (or the next available port if 80 is bound already by another software)
  • Enter the default credentials : admin - adminadmi2





Main configuration


Keepalive               => keep unchecked

Mode                     => keep II checked

Listen Port Viewer  => used internally on the server

Listen Port Server   => The port that is used to send the VNC data from your devices to the server

Web Gui Port          => the port of this web console



Miscellaneous configuration 


Only allow connections => whitelist of IP ranges.


Refuse connections to => blacklist of IP ranges.


Only allow ID => whitelist based on repeater ID => do not use


Firewall configuration



Make sure that the following ports are open on the server and the devices


  • VNC Server Port    => open for incoming connection on the server, outgoing on the devices
  • VNC Viewers Ports => open for incoming connection on the server, outgoing on the administrator device (see the list below)


You can find the VNC Viewers port list in the settings page of your provconnect server (default range is 5900-5919) :
